This week two clients came to me because their websites suddenly went down. The reason in both cases: they had failed to update credit card information with their domain name registrars.

It sounds like a small thing, but it can turn into a very big problem if your business is built on ownership of a particular domain name or names.

I've seen clients lose their domain name and then lose years of work they have put into building a strong web presence. It's very easy (too easy) to take domain name registration too lightly.

Remember, your website hosting can always be moved, but your domain name is irreplaceable.
