Notice the shock of color in the cookies image at the right.
The use of blue in the image echoes the blue that appears throughout the navigation structure of the site.

Vanguard's home page is daring in its simplicity.
Notice the logo below and to the right on the page - an unusual and striking place that provides a visual break from the standard top-left positioning of logos on web sites. Internal pages display the logo at the top.
